Heavy-Duty Electrical Systems: Stability, Reliability and Safety in Extreme Conditions
Heavy-duty electrical applications belong among the most demanding environments in electrical engineering. Equipment is exposed to high currents, significant thermal stress, vibration, dust, chemical influences and the requirement for long-term continuous operation without downtime. In such conditions, reliability is just as important as performance itself. Our Italian partner Palazzoli, a manufacturer of lighting and electrical systems with more than 120 years of history, develops solutions specifically for these applications.
Material philosophy
The key parameter of reliability is not only the electrical components themselves but primarily the materials that protect them. Failures in critical applications often arise due to plastic degradation, seal deterioration, microcracks caused by UV radiation, or chemical corrosion of metal parts. For this reason, we use a combination of technologies based on thermosetting GRP resins, structural marine-grade aluminium and stainless steel 316L. These materials are designed to withstand thermal shocks, vibration, saltwater exposure, chemicals, UV radiation and mechanical impact.
TAIS: Thermosetting GRP for areas with high thermal and chemical load
The TAIS range uses a special thermosetting GRP resin that does not exhibit the typical weaknesses of common thermoplastics. It does not soften, deform, or support combustion. Thanks to its halogen-free and low-smoke characteristics, TAIS is used in environments where equipment must withstand extreme temperatures while ensuring operator safety. A ceramic fuse holder with resistance up to 1400 °C provides exceptional safety in the event of an electric arc. The triple locking mechanism and the option for remote position signalling increase operational safety during maintenance procedures.

ALUPRES: Marine-grade aluminium for energy, infrastructure and chemical industries
The ALUPRES range uses aluminium alloy resistant to pitting corrosion—one of the most common causes of equipment failure in aggressive industrial environments. The devices achieve corrosion resistance class C5 and mechanical impact resistance IK10. ALUPRES is designed for current ranges from 125 A to 250 A and is typically used in substations, refineries, gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and areas with significant thermal and mechanical stress. Thanks to the stability of its materials, this range can operate long-term in environments where standard solutions degrade.

ALUMAX: High-current connectors for extreme loads up to 630 A
The most powerful solution is the ALUMAX range. It is designed for current levels from 250 to 630 A and is optionally available in stainless steel 316L, which makes it ideal for offshore and petrochemical applications. Its construction minimises contact resistance, which is crucial for transmission paths with variable load cycles or frequent handling. ALUMAX is used in mining, metallurgy, energy and the oil industry, where reliable transmission of high currents is a critical operational factor. References include installations for the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority.

XCEE and ROTOR: Connectors for applications with intensive washing, weather exposure and frequent handling
For industrial operations requiring IP66 to IP69 protection, high mechanical stability and long-term failure-free operation, the XCEE and ROTOR ranges are ideal. Thanks to IK10 resistance, halogen-free design and stability from –40 °C to +60 °C, these solutions are suitable for food processing, logistics, construction machinery or temporary energy systems. The products are designed for low contact resistance even with frequent plugging and unplugging, which significantly increases their service life.

A technical professional understands that heavy-duty solutions must be optimised not only for electrical parameters but also for long-term material stability and operator safety. Our TAIS, ALUPRES, ALUMAX, XCEE and ROTOR solutions meet these requirements not only in laboratory conditions but especially in real-world applications where every failure is critical. REWAN brings these solutions to the Slovak and Czech markets along with technical support, system design and integration for demanding industrial sectors.

A New World Record: It’s almost unbelievable what’s possible…
In 2016, they set a record. In 2019, they broke it. And in 2025, they’ve done it again.
Our long-standing partner Pipelife has once again confirmed its position as a world leader in the production and transport of large-diameter HDPE pipes. For the third time in history, the company has broken the world record for towing pipes across the sea — an extraordinary achievement requiring top-level technology, precise planning, and uncompromising quality. The first record was set in 2016, the second in 2019, when Pipelife delivered more than three kilometers of HDPE pipes from Norway to Malaysia (Pipelife – New World Record HDPE Pipe Delivery to Malaysia). And now, in 2025, history repeats itself — with an incredible route spanning 28,000 kilometers. This time, it involved three HDPE pipes with a diameter of 2,500 mm and a total length of 1,426 meters, towed across the sea during a five-month voyage. These massive pipes will supply cooling water to a 500-MW power plant, making the project a true milestone both technically and energetically. The world’s longest HDPE pipe transport has been successfully completed by the Norwegian team, proving once again that innovation, experience, and the courage to push boundaries are part of this brand’s DNA. The production of large-diameter HDPE pipes at Pipelife’s Stathelle plant in Norway is a unique process that allows for pipes of exceptional length. These are towed across the sea directly to their destination, minimizing the need for joints, improving system reliability, and significantly saving time and installation costs.
For us at REWAN, it is an honor to be a long-term partner of Pipelife and to witness how they continue to push the limits of what’s possible. This achievement proves that long-term collaboration with innovative leaders delivers results of global significance. Congratulations to the entire Pipelife Norge AS team on yet another world record — we look forward to future groundbreaking projects together.
